How do I know if a parent educator is right for me?
Does your child need support in school? Would a personalized learning plan be beneficial for them? With that, I will look at work samples and test data to create a personalized learning plan for them. We'll talk at the end of the month to see their progress. If you have the time to support your child, but aren't sure how to help them, this great, affordable alternative to tutoring.
Or maybe there an issue at school leaving you anxious? I can share the perspective of a teacher to help your child cope in school through divorce, support you in communicating with the school, help you consider the best school placement options (magnet? private? etc), and give a second opinion on how to help them remain focused and cope through this transition with more ease.
Primary Focus is right for you if you want your children to value education and feel comfortable in school. If you want to help your kids, but aren't always sure of who to ask or what to ask. If you're trying to enroll your child in the right school, but feel overwhelmed by the options.
In what step of the divorce process is best for me to meet with a parent educator and why?
I believe that the sooner you can inform the teachers, the better for your child to get the support they need academically during this transition, even if that’s just the week before any housing situations change.
If you have a complicated divorce process and need assistance and support from the school, but you’re unsure what to say, who to involve and how to establish well-written communication methods with the school and staff, I can help you establish a plan and even help craft email templates for you to use with your child(ren)’s teachers. No matter what stage you are in with your divorce, if you notice your child struggling and feel you could use some additional guidance for course-correction, it’s a good time to engage with a parent educator so that your child can get back on track.
Whether I'm a breadwinner or a stay-at-home mom, what value will I get out of working with you?
Bread winners and SAHMs both love their kids. My priority is to show simple, time effective solutions that will help your child in school and maintain your relationship with your child.
How do I afford this if I am a stay-at-home mom or don't have access to the finances?
Equity in education is very important to me. For this reason, I provide free resources on my YouTube channel, my newsletter, Instagram, and website. If you have a specific individualized concern, we can also talk about reduced/no cost support.
